My neighbor is a teachers aid at a local elementary school. She works part time in the cafeteria and was sent home after lunch and given a disciplinary report because one of the kids requested more celery. She gave it to the child which is against the rules. They are only allowed so much celery even though they throw away bundles of unused celery every day. (the schools are not allowed to keep any food. All is thrown away including unused milk that is perfectly good)

You'd think, with so much emphasis on children eating better that a child would be able to get a few extra pieces of celery when dozens are thrown away daily.

I told her to call the local paper and raise hell.

Call the local paper unless she wants to keep that job.
